Voices for the Future is a podcast series that I co-host with my collaborator Anodea Judith.
The next program is this Thursday, November 9th at 7pm Eastern/4pm Pacific with climate change activists Lawrence Wollersheim and Leonora Camner, and is entitled Climate Safe Villages and the Future of Climate Change.
You can attend for free on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83743719791
Much of the world is already witnessing the increased heat waves, storms, droughts, and fires of climate change. Yet the future threatens to be even more extreme. Because society has never been there before, few people can adequately wrap their heads around what that future will be like, let alone prepare for it.Â
How do we overcome cultural denial, and not only take steps to mitigate the worst effects of climate change, but prepare for what we know is coming? Perhaps that preparation has a silver lining of healthier living, thriving communities, and innovative design that are reflected in the creation of Climate Safe Villages.
The mission of Climate Safe Villages is to form climate change resilient and sustainable communities worldwide, founded in a commitment to respond and adapt to the urgent challenges of the climate crisis and its economic impact.
Join us this coming Thursday for an enlightening and inspiring conversation with Lawrence Wollersheim and Leonora Camner in learning about what the science is really telling us and how to best prepare for it. Your future depends on it!
Lawrence Wollersheim has been the founder and Executive Director of Job One for Humanity, an organization founded in 2008, that focuses on disseminating climate change information and helping humanity prepare for its effects. He brings thirty years of experience in successful social advocacy and social advocacy litigation. He is involved in all aspects of Job One for Humanity's mission, including global warming research analysis.
Lawrence Wollersheim also is a director of Universe Spirit, an organization that has helped birth the new Universe Evolutionary Worldview, the principles of Sustainable Prosperity, Universe Citizenship, and other Evolutioneer programs, like Evolution Spirituality, an open-source, meta-spirituality grounded solidly in the sciences and the principles of universe evolution.
Leonora Camner is closely involved with Lawrence in the Climate Safe Villages project, building communities designed for physical, financial, and spiritual resilience in the face of increasing climate instability.Â
A mother of two, Leonora is an experienced nonprofit leader with over five years of experience running multiple nonprofits, including in housing advocacy and democracy reform. Previously, she was Executive Director of Abundant Housing L.A. Living in Santa Monica with her family, she brings a compassionate and community-driven approach to her work with Climate Safe Villages.
If you plan to live into the future, this program will prove inspiring and illuminating. Again, it takes place this Thursday, November 9 at 7pm Eastern/4pm Pacific on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83743719791
