A Screening of "How to Save Democracy" on April 6th!
In my prior post, I announced that my feature film documentary film, How to Save Democracy was done, and I posted the trailer to the film.
I also let you know that I was mapping out a distribution strategy. That's still the case, and I've applied to a few film festivals and conferences, and have a producer's rep to help find it distribution. At least for a few months, the film won't be available to the general public.
Yet, I thought it would be nice to have a public screening of the film in April in my hometown of Saratoga Springs, NY, and so, on Sunday, April 6 at 1pm at the Saratoga Springs Public Library, 49 Henry Street, (in the Community Room) in Saratoga Springs, I will be showing the film.
Admission is free, and after the film there will be a Q&A, as the film will give you much to think and talk about.
In the film, I interview some truly brilliant people, all experts on democracy and the issues facing the U.S. in the present day. The people--Pulitzer Prize winners, journalists, authors, activists, constitutional scholars, and historians--all give depth and perspective on what it would take for the U.S. to realize the true aspirations of democracy.
The film includes archival images and footage from the 19th and 20th centuries, including talks and speeches by Franklin Delano Roosevelt that will be sure to truly inspire you.
While the times we live in right now seem dark, we can't give up hope, and my film will surely give you that hope. It tells the story of where things went wrong, and shows how things can go right.
And so, if you live anywhere near Saratoga Springs, NY, I hope you can make it to the screening of How to Save Democracy on Sunday, April 6 at 1pm at the Saratoga Springs Public Library.
